I am the second owner, 4/1/2009. The car was baught here in Omaha and has been serviced by the local BMW Dealer, Markel BMW. You can call them and ask about the car I know the service manager and he knows the car. I have put less than 1000 miles on it since I have owned it.

As far as the body is concerned, it is in very, very good condition. When I bought the car it had a little surface rust behind the wheels where it looked like gravel had chipped the paint off, no rude through, so I had the dealer repair, repaint and re-gravelguard the rockers. In addition I just recently had the clear coat reshot and buffed out, a little dull and minor service scratches.

Have had several questions so I will try to clarify some issues. I have spent over $7,000 on repairs to this car over the years (does not include the body work), that I have had it and have receipts for all work that was performed by either the BMW dealer or qualified BMW mechanical shop. Those items include replacing all fuel lines, having the fuel tank cleaned and lined, all required service on engine, inspections, front suspension, CPU with Dinan chip, hoses, injectors serviced, new sensors, new engine mounts and rebuild speedo (only 100 miles lost on milage). The dash has cracks in it and I have put a Coverlay plastic cover over the dash (fits snug with adhesive not glue so can be removed) and have replaced the leather on the drivers seat back and seat bottom bolsters only, then had the interior dyed and conditioned ( the back seats looked like they had never been sat on and passenger seat sparingly). The clear coat was resprayed and then buffed out. To the best of my knowledge the car has never been involved in an accident, not in my care, and all the gaps are uniform with the ID's on those panels that have them. The exhaust looks like it is original, no wholes and only service rust.I have included a couple of new pics of the drivers side body and a close up of the front valance showing minor scuffs from dealership's drive approach (did not see it until I was cleaning car some weeks later so could not prove they did it). Everything works - AC, sunroof, windows, locks and even have the factory radio (has a cassette stuck in it).
This is not a perfect car, it is a very good, clean survivor. The BMW M Registry indicates that there were 1340 units delivered in the US. Haverty has the value for this vehicle in this condition at $37,500 and these cars in concorse condition are bringing $90,000 to $100,000, this car is an excellent candidate for total restoration, its all there. Just for comparison the 1970 Hemi Cuda production number were 19,343 Hardtops and 520 Convertibles.
