This collector-quality 1988 BMW M6 is now available for private-party sale in Scottsdale, AZ. It’s dressed in stunning Cinnabar Red over Lotus White leather with new black “M-Power” floor mats. A total of 81,000 warm-weather miles have been accumulated since new. One of only 1,767 examples imported to North America, this E24 started life in Newport Beach, California. In 2009 it moved to Tampa, FL and in 2019 it arrived in Scottsdale. There’s a 3-inch thick binder containing every service record & receipts since 1995. The paint, trim, glass, and interior are all original and in exceptional condition. The M-tuned 3.5 liter inline 6-cylinder has Bosch Motronic fuel injection, dual overhead camshafts, six individual throttle-bodies and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. The S38 engine in the U.S. cars lost 30 horsepower compared to the European M88 engine. This example has regained that power thanks to the installation of the larger diameter, equal-length European headers & exhaust and a Turner Motorsports performance chip. Meticulously maintained its entire life, there’s 30 years of invoices, receipts, and miscellaneous paperwork included in the sale. The engine runs strong, and smooth, with excellent compression on all cylinders. Standard equipment includes power windows, seats, mirrors, sunroof, antenna, and locks. The current wheels are genuine 3-Piece BBS RS211’s wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S’s, sized 235/45/ZR17, and date coded April 2021.
