One of only about 2,000 total M6s that were produced for the U.S market in 1987 and '88 this beautiful shark nose coupe sold for $59,000 back in the day. Finished in Zinnoberrot red over tan, this E24-chassis M6 has been driven just over 161,000 miles since new. It sports a superb running 256 horsepower inline six cylinder Motorsport engine with individual throttle bodies mated to the factory 5 speed manual gearbox with stopping power provided by four wheel disc brakes with ABS anti-lock. Sport, luxury and safety features include airbag steering wheel, staggered size 17" and 18" Style 5 alloy wheels, heated electric leather seats, electric sunroof and windows, cruise control, front and rear ac, updated stereo, factory tool kit and a trunk full of miscellaneous parts. THE BODY AND TRIMThe exterior of this 1988 BMW M6 is in GOOD TO VERY GOOD 99.99% rust-free condition overall with a deep lustrous shine to the paint finish and trim pieces with a few minor nicks, scratches, faded areas and other light cosmetic blemishes as one would expect from a 36 year-old vehicle!

THE INTERIORAs is clearly articulated here in the photos, the cockpit of this non-smoker Bimmer is in QUITE GOOD condition overall with nearly all systems and controls in excellent working order. Imperfections include: slightly mismatched color driver seat, small heat cracks on the dash near the windshield, intermittent tachometer along with some light wear on the upholstery and interior trim bits. Overall this is still one stylish, comfortable and beautiful classic cockpit!THE DRIVING EXPERIENCEThis '88 M6 is a truly satisfying car to wind through the gears on a warm sunny day! The S38 six cylinder engine revs beautifully to redline with a fabulous sound, the transmission shifts great, the ride is at once firm yet supple [with newer Bilstein shocks and bushings] with great steering and brake feel. The tires currently need replacing producing a highway shimmy.
