1990 BMW 735i 5 Speed

1990 BMW 7-Series Additional Info:

Only imported from 1988-1990 with the 5 speed manual in small numbers this is a rare example of a unique car. It was purchased from Performance BMW. It was used as a daily driver by my father until 2014 for his commute to and from work. It has always been pampered, covered every day it while it was parked at his office. Since 2014 it has been a pleasure cruiser, driven on nice weekends.

In the mid 1990s BMW tuner Korman Autoworks changed the gear ratio to give it more acceleration and a sportier drive, making this large sedan feel a lot lighter and engaging to drive that it would otherwise. The factory radio was replaced with an appropriately rare McIntosh MX406 in dash CD player in the early 2000s. It has a Bluetooth module connected via the AUX input on the stereo for modern audio streaming. The vintage Motorola carphone that was commonly used is no longer connected but was left in place for nostalgia.

There is damage indicated on the Carfax from a minor fender bender in 2004. The fender was replaced with new, the work being performed by Performance BMW’s body shop.Door locks, windows, heat, ac, everything works. The interior and exterior are extremely clean. The imperfections are visible in the pictures: A few pixels on the dash display are out only noticeable during the “fasten seatbelts” startup routine. The driver’s side door threshold plastic has some wear. The sunroof paint has micro-scratches from frequent use of the sunroof, which only noticeable from very close.

This unique car is surprisingly fun to drive and is in beautiful condition. If you are near central NC I encourage you to come see it in person. I’ll be happy to do video walk arounds or answer any questions.
