Super Clean Untouched Survivor, Original Paint, 79,500 miles, Perfect Condition

Body / Paint

The body is in original condition and absolutely rust-free. The vehicle has the original color Alpine White and was never repainted. There is no accident damage and no repair or painting work has been carried out - all body seams are originally sealed. All gaps on doors and hoods as well as transitions in the body are correct - doors and hoods open and close properly. All body parts such as fenders, doors, hoods and bumpers still have the original factory stickers showing the the vehicle identification number of the car. The paint condition in general is in an above-average well-kept condition, without any noticeable scratches, abrasions or dents. Only the front edge of the bonnet has a few tiny, almost imperceptible stone chips and the passenger door has a small dent. The paint was carefully hand polished with 3M Anti-Hologram Polish and then sealed with Ceramic Spray Coating. However, although the paintwork is in good condition, please keep in mind that this original paintwork is now also 36 years old. A paint thickness measurement was carried out and shows almost identicalpaint thicknesses without any major abnormalities. Critical areas such as rocker panels, A-pillars, lower side panels and wheel arches are flawless. The front and rear end panels (aprons) as well as the wheelhouses and underbody are undamaged. All wheel arches and the entire underbody are dry ice blasted and absolutely free of any dirt. The front bumper is immaculate. The rear bumper shows two cracks and the surface is slightly oxidized. Please note that the vehicle is equipped with original BMW mud flaps all around, probably already from the factory. Therefore, the rocker panels are in a very good and untouched original condition, without any damages.

Interior

The entire interior is completely original and meticulously clean. The full electric leather seats are in above average good condition. The leather is soft and supple, there are no damages, abrasions or significant creases that could indicate damage to the leather. Even the sidebolsters of the driver seat are undamaged. The seats themselves only show the usual, slight signs of wear. The rear seats appear unused and are in like-new condition. The entire dashboard is in immaculate condition with no cracks, warping or other damage. The original black carpet is neat and without abrasions. However, the carpet on the passenger side below the floor mat has a hole in it. Carpet, seats, panels and dashboard show no fading or damage from the sun. The dashboard is immaculate, without any warping, damage or cracks. The door panels including the door pockets are immaculate and show no signs of wear. The steering wheel is in very good condition and shows only slight signs of wear. All electric seat adjustments, including the headrest, work flawlessly. All seat adjustments and seat guides ares mooth-running and work almost silently. The folding center armrests of the front and rear seats are immaculate. All controls, levers and buttons as well as the dashboard displays including both on-board computers work perfectly. All digital displays, lighting and indicator lights in the dashboard and in the control panel as well as in the on-board computer work. There are no pixel errors to be seen in the displays. All buttons and levers are undamaged and easy to use. The electric mirrors, electric windows and the window guides work without noise. The central locking works perfectly. All chrome, stainless steeland plastic parts of the interior are spotless and unscratched. The air conditioning is freshly filled, blows ice cold and runs perfectly - the fans run in all stages without noise. The electric sunroof works perfectly and smoothly. The shift lever of the automatic transmission is smooth. The cruise control works. Unfortunately, the original radio was replaced for a Kenwood CD-Radio with I-Phone, I-Pad and USB function. No additional speakers were installed - the original speakers were used. The original Hirschmann automatic antenna works flawlessly. This was overhauled with new gear wheels and a new telescope. The sunvisors are undeformed, undamaged and in good condition. The headliner is in good condition. However, this shows a discoloration in the area of the C-pillar. The rear and side windows on the vehicle are tinted black. There is a small stone chip on the windshield, but it is out of the driver's field of vision. The vehicle is a non-smoking and pet-free vehicle. The entire interior is in above-average, flawless and in almost new condition.

Engine / Transmission

The vehicle has the original engine and automatic transmission. The engine is without any leaks and does not consume oil. It starts immediately, cold or warm, runs at a constant speed and makes normal mechanical noises. It runs well at any rpm and responds well to the gas pedal. With its 6 cylinders and 2.7 liter displacement, it is strong in the lower speed range and powerful at higher speeds. The engine runs almost silently in normal driving mode and sounds typical BMW sporty at higher speeds. The engine is very clean all around, there are no oily spots underneath the engine or in the engine compartment. All lines are properly connected, the hoses and connections are without any cracks.The engine has just had a full service including a new V-belt and valve cover gasket. The timing belt was replaced in September 2019 at a total mileage of 71,294 miles. A recent compression test shows consistent results between 174 and 188 psi. The cooling system was cleaned, flushed several times and filled with fresh antifreeze. The alternator and the Bosch battery are new. The 4-speed ZF automatic transmission is original and absolutely dry. The automatic transmission just got a fresh service. The filter was replaced and the transmission was filled with fresh automatic fluid. It shifts cleanly, without loss of power and almost imperceptibly into all gears. Due to the strength of the engine in the lower speed range, it shifts up early at low speeds. The main shaft to the rear axle is free of play, the drive shafts show no signs of wear, the axle boots are without cracks. The differential was flushed and filled with fresh rear axle oil. In general, the entire drive train from the engine to the wheels is in perfect technical condition and will not require any repairs in the near future.

Brakes/ Suspension

The shock absorbers are powerful, the upper mounts are without play. The rubber bushings of the axles show no signs of wear. The control arms, all ball joints and the steering components are without wear and show no play. The steering linkage and tie rod ends have recently bee nrenewed. The steering gear is free of play. The car drives tight and stays on track, the chassis/suspension shows no weaknesses in sudden changes of direction. Even at higher speeds, the vehicle remains stable and on track, confident and easy to drive. The front and rear brake rotors including brake pads and brake hoses are new, as are the brake pads for the parking brake. The brake system was flushed and the brake fluid replaced. The braking behavior is powerful, the brakes respond immediately. All brake calipers are dry and without any leaks. The car stays on track when braking hard, there is no one-sided braking behavior to be seen. The parking brake pulls after 4 teeth, the release is without play.

Wheels/ Tires

The front and rear tires are in good condition with no signs of wear on one side. The type designation is "Prime Well PS 850". The tire size is 195/70-14 91T M+S. The tread depth is 1/4" all around. The rims are original 14" BMW rims. They are in good condition and have no curb damage whatsoever. The rims are newly painted in BMW silver and sealed with 3 coats of clear coat. They have also recently been balanced. All rims have dust protection inserts to protect the rims from brake dust. The original spare wheel and tires are unused. The original jack is present. The original tool kit is complete and unused.

The underbody is without any damage and guaranteed rust-free. There are no dents, bumps or abrasions on the entire floor area. The underbody was blasted with dry ice and is absolutely clean, The protection coating is original and flawless. The spare wheel well is without abrasions or bumps. The axle mounts are clean. All sills and floor pans are in original condition, undamaged and absolutely solid. In the entire underbody area, no damage was caused by improper use of a jack. Due to the fitted original mud flaps, the rocker panels are in almost new and undamaged condition. The original exhaust system incl. catalytic converter is solid and in good to fair condition - the original heat protection is immaculate. The original muffler shows its age but is still in acceptable condition.
