Verona red 1970 BMW 2002 refreshed and ready for weekend cruises. I rebuilt this car to be a super nice driver and not a hanger queen. It's about as close to a restoration as you can get without it having been a 100% concourse restoration job that would make it a risk to drive on the open roads. I wanted something to enjoy on the weekends and that's what I achieved. It has evidence of body work in it's past. The front nose appears to have been replaced at some time long ago. The spare tire well has metal repair that may or may not have been due to rust. The chassis is in really great condition with no rust in the usual spots or anywhere that I can find. The frame rails are as straight as I have ever seen on one of these. I have owned a BMW 2002 of various years since 1989 and feel comfortable saying that this is a very nice and solid car. Everything works and most components have been gone through. All lighting works, windshield washer system works, all speeds of windshield wipers work, interior fan works, heater control/vent controls work with no resistance in the sliders. Just rebuilt the heater box with a new fan motor, seals, grommets, bearings and heater valve. New belts and hoses. New rear Bilstein HD shocks, new rear subframe mounts, upgraded sway bars, new brake hoses, rebuilt radiator, rebuilt Solex carb, new electronic distributor, new interior featuring front BMW E30 sport seats finished in black vinyl bolsters and black cloth centers with matching rear seats. Upgraded modern 3 point retractable seat belts on reinforced B pillars. Original front seat brackets removed and replaced with box steel frames that both lowers the seats and better centers the driver seat to the steering wheel. New dash cap installed, original dash has cracks. No stereo installed but did install a new antenna with the cable routed to the center counsel. All door seals and window seals new. New tires including the spare on 13" BBS basket weave wheels. Car runs and drives excellent and is very reliable. All gauges work, just had the speedo rebuilt, upgraded H4 headlights with new retro yellow fog lights. Sunroof works. Paint is about 10 years old and shows very well.
