1976 BMW 2002 Additional Info:

I have owned this vehicle for almost 21 years. Purchased from and in Birmingham, Alabama in December 2002 after driving down for inspection and initial drive. It had a list of basic mechanical needs such as brakes, electrical upgrades, upgraded Recaro 3 series seats. Has always ran very strong and is consistent in starting. Steering and suspension are very tight with many suspension parts replaced in my first year of ownership. Most recently in the past year, it has a new clutch and related parts, a new starter, inspection of the flywheel teeth. Alternator & Bosch coil have been replacements in past couple of years. New Interstate Battery installed last fall.
Body is solid and you will see in the photos 5 pictures from before my ownership (circa late 1990's) that show the bare metal prior to it's repainting before I purchased the vehicle. The paint is a long way from perfect but no dents or major issues. The car was originally orange on the exterior which is why you see spots of orange. I have made no changes to the exterior of the vehicle in terms of paint or body work since delivery. The interior is in very good shape. I replaced the steering wheel with the Nardi and replaced the front seats with Recaro 3 series seats and replaced the stereo and installed 4 speakers, front and rear and I did not do any cut outs in the door panels. The headliner will need a replacement at some point but is in same condition as when I purchased. Vehicle has factory air conditioning which does not currently work and I am not sure the state of the ac components. Windows and sunroof all function properly.
In summary, this vehicle has been extremely enjoyable to own and enjoy. You have a lot of people stopping you on the street to find out about what it is and it's history which is always enjoyable. The feel of driving it is hard to describe and it comfortably throws your head back into the head rests a bit when you take off. I was originally told that there was a bit of head done on the engine so it is a bit peppy in performance.
The car's biggest asset is that I have generally left it alone.
Car is currently stored and available for test drive in Pittsboro Indiana which is about 15 miles west of Interstate 465 from the westside of Indianapolis. Would be glad to answer any questions have have you in for a visit to inspect and drive the vehicle.
