This car is a life-long west coast car and has lived its entire life in San Francisco Bay area. The car has been very well serviced its whole life and the miles are believed to be original at just over 106,000. These cars were notorious for rusting out due to a lack of zinc coating, but this car has always been in salt free climate so that is not an issue. The paint on the car is finished in it gorgeous original color Verona Red and was just fully wet sanded and buffed to a blinding luster. The car is riding on the custom 16" alloy sport wheels and BMW center caps. They look great and have a like new set of sport radial tires mounted. All of the glass on the car is original on the car even the windshield. Stainless and chrome trim is all in place and in good condition with no pitting or damage. The interior is in great shape all around. The seats are all in very good condition and were just freshly installed. The carpets and headliner are all redone, and very nice with no ware or damage. All dials and controls function as they should. The heat and controls work correctly and blows warm when needed. The car has very nice MP3 Bluetooth Stereo set up and sounds good. Original dash, headliner, and door panels are in great original condition. Sunroof functions well and just had new felt seals installed!Mechanically, this 2002 runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 2.0L engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. The previous owner stated the engine was fully rebuilt using Ireland Engineering forged internals which add some HP to the little 4cyl. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car was always regularly serviced by a small BMW shop near the previous owner's home. The car does not leak a drop of anything and the suspension feels super tight and responsive. Clutch and gearbox are smooth with no grinding or issues. The disc brakes stop the car extremely well and I would drive this car anywhere! The engine compartment is original quality.All in all, this is one of the cleanest and nicest 2002's on the market. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
