1986 BMW 3-Series Additional Info:
Up for auction is my 1986 325e. I had many plans for this, but I've decided to start on my E61 instead and need the space. The PO stated that the PO to him replaced the engine; so the mileage is unknown. It's still the M20B27. I've driven it to work and just around the town a few times, but that's the extent of my time with it on the road. I've spent more time fixing it in my garage than I have driving it. Please read everything. The Bad: • AC is currently mostly removed. Still have the aux fan on. • Currently has a high idle while in park, but NOT in drive. • The dashboard is heavily cracked, as is typical of E30s. • Power steering leak. • Cluster only works when it wants to and only slightly. Mileage apparently stopped at around 168k. • Sporadic rust on the rockers and fenders. • Front OEM valence is trashed, hence the fiberglass bumpers. • Will need an alignment • OBC display does not work • Random oil leak. Sometimes it happens, other times it doesn't. • Speakers will work, on occasion. • The passenger side windshield wiper barely works and looks to be coming loose. • Windows motors are likely going out. • Gets hard to unlock/lock the car. Missing (Knowingly): • Glove box • Sunroof controls • Original radio The Good: • I fabbed up a bracket and replaced the driver seat w/ a manual sport seat from an E46. Originals were destroyed. Passenger not installed, but will be included • Original trunk lock was destroyed and didn't work. Has new trunk lock w/ it's own key • Comes with a plethora of new/used parts installed and/or with the purchase of the car • The battery it came with is likely going bad, so I bought an Odyssey PC680. It's been used once to see if it'll start the car (it did!), so it likely also needs charged prior to using it. • Antenna is removed due to it being destroyed; have a cover in place currently. The radio I installed has Bluetooth, though. • Clean title in hand • It runs. • It's an E30. Comes with: • Sport steering wheel (installed) • Stock steering wheel (not installed) • Front passenger E46 sport seat (not installed) • Updated radio w/ Alpine front speakers (installed) • Premium E30 tweeters (Installed, but not connected) • M-Tech II fiberglass front and rear bumpers (not installed) • Sparco front strut bar; red (installed) • (4) Chrome headlight rings (installed) • (4) Stock headlight rings (not installed) • (2) New tires (installed) • New hood latch release cable (installed) • New rack and pinion boots (installed) • New front sway bar links (installed) • New front inner/outer tie rods (installed) • New front Lower Control Arms (LCA) (installed) • New front lower rearward control arm bushings (installed) • New front strut mounts (installed) • New front shocks (installed) • New rear struts (installed) • New NGK spark plugs (installed) • New windshield wipers (installed) • New front rotors and pads (installed) • Fresh brake fluid change • Fresh oil change w/ filter • (2) New uncut BMW keys • Loads of extra relays • Extra front and rear side marker lights The majority of the front suspension has been refreshed, as you can see. If you want anymore pictures of the vehicle, please let me know and I will try to get them to you later in the afternoon/evening. I personally wouldn't trust driving it across the country any time soon, BUT it can get you from A to B or be a fun project for the next person. Engine swap it, rally it, turn it in to a truck, whatever you want.
