1974 BMW 2002 tii Additional Info:
This is a great restoration candidate for a super collectible BMW 2002 tii. The car has never been restored and yet drives very strong and is inspectable in the state of New Hampshire. The paint needs to be redone, the interior has a few issues such as the passenger seat and the drivers door panel needs to be reattached along with a missing chrome strip on the drivers side door. This car has been maintained by an authorized BMW dealer and always garaged. There is some rust but mostly surface and not rusted all the way through the metal. I don't have a lift but did take some pictures of the underside. I put about $1000 into the car last year to fix a sloppy manuel shifter that now shifts great. You do have to pump the clutch a few times when you first start the car to get proper engagement of the clutch. My guess is that it either needs more fluid or there is a leak in the system causing it too loose pressure but I am not a mechanic and it hasn't bothered me enough to schedule an appointment.
I purchased this car as a project for my son and I to work on together but we just don't seem to have time with everything else going on. I purchased it from an older guy who was preparing to move to florida and was cleaning out his garage in Sandwich NH. I have no idea if he was the original or 5th owner, although the way he spoke about the car it seemed he had it for a very long time.
It is a cool looking car with a lot of potential and the market for these is very strong especially restored. I am not looking to get every dollar out of this car but want to find it a good home with someone who will bring her back to life. I value my time and looking for a low hassle quick sale to a reliable buyer.
If you want to inspect the car - no problem but do so before placing a bid. The winning bidder is the new owner with no returns.
