1992 BMW E34 M5 - 5 Speed Manual
VIN: WBSHD9311NBK06335
Miles: 190825
Being offered for sale is the iconic sports sedan of its time, a 1992 BMW E34 M5. This M5 is in great condition overall for a vehicle with the amount of miles.
The vehicle was acquired earlier this year by a friend of mine (car collector). I am assisting in the sale. The car is local, and retains a State of Utah title and registration. The title is clear and free. Upon receiving the vehicle, a local European auto shop (Morris Brothers) went through the vehicle repairing the Air Conditioning and replacing some worn suspension parts. The vehicle is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Features:
A vehicle in excellent condition, a great driver!
No known accident history
S38B38 6 Cylinder engine (Upgraded 3.8 liter that happened in 1991)
5 Speed Manual transmission
"Schwartz" Black over black leather color combination
"Throwing Star" M-System wheels
Recent service with suspension bushings replaced
Two folders of service history and receipts
Really shows well for being 27 years old!
Some items that may need attention (in the interest of full disclosure):
A/C was recently serviced and works, but at times tends to struggle. May need further service in the future.
The driver's seat now suddenly doesn't move down. All other power functions work though.
The rear seat pass-thru (ski bag trim piece) needs to be installed again (it is present)
The radio turns on, but the volume is very low (amp?)
The heat shield panel on the inside of the hood is missing. It appears there was some work on the washer nozzles and never replaced.
Portions of the headliner may have been re-glued as it has some bunches in it.
The M5 is a great runner. It drives straight and tight, and is free of any suspension noises. The engine pulls strong and does not smoke at all. No major leaks are present (a minor drip occasionally). The clutch and transmission shifts well. Tire tread depth is nearly new.Tires are Sumitomo brand. All glass is in great condition. The doors and back are tinted. The windshield is free of major chips or sandblasting.
The paint is older, but presents itself wonderfully for a vehicle with the age and miles. There are no dings or dents that I could see. The panels seem very straight.
Interior is clean and free of any odd odors. It does not appear the vehicle was smoked in. The leather is in excellent condition with some basic wear shown. No cracks in the dash or door cards. No pixels are out in the dash cluster (a common issue). Two sets of floor mats are in the trunk, I believe one is the original, the other are a set of ?cocoa? style weave mats. Jack and spare tire are in the trunk.
Terms of sale:
The owner possess the State of Utah title. Winning bidder will need make a $500 deposit at the auction end (Via Paypal). The remaining amount will need to be paid within 7 days after that. Cash, bank transfer or certified funds only. Vehicle will not be released until funds are received. A local sale is welcome. We reserve the right to pull the ad early if the vehicle sells locally. No warranties are expressed or implied. We can assist with having it picked up here if it is being transported. The vehicle is located in South Jordan, Utah, which is essentially the southern end of Salt Lake City.
Thank you
On Oct-05-19 at 15:48:17 PDT, seller added the following information:
*update 10.5.19. I was able to remove the driver's seat and lube the cable a bit and this allowed the seat to go down. It worked great for a minute, and now only the left side of the seat raises. This is a common E34 issue from what I have read. Again, all other power options on the seat work fine (forward, backward, tilt, headrest, etc). I also reattached the ski bag housing in the seat pass-thru.
