BMW Z1 from 1989 for SALE
by owner since 1996
This is the rare BMW Z1 convertible two-seater with VERTICAL SLIDING DOORS. Only 8,012 Z1s were ever made, including prototypes. BMW never sold the Z1 in the U.S. and it was not federalized. But since the Z1 has the status as a historically significant vehicle, a registration exemption applies which is granted to cars older than 23 years. This Z1 was built in 1989 (first road-registered in August 1989) and all restriction have been removed since 2013, so that it can now be registered in the U.S. without difficulty.
Decription:
Two seater sports car soft top convertible, left hand drive with VERTICAL SLIDING DOORS, 54,300 miles (89,000 km – the odo & speedo is in km & km/h), exterior color: green metallic, which is the car’s original color. It had two owners since new, the second owner since April 1996. Original camouflage gray leather interior, seats in grey and with camouflage seat pans, all leather. The hood was replaced, the tyres are 95% new and the front fenders, left & right, were replaced due to cracks in the plastic. The cracks were not caused by a collision, but are an issue of aging and load factors. BMW apparently never expected the small production-run of Z1s to last long. Together with the front fenders, all four interior wheel wells were replaced (plastic frittering away), which then required a total respray of the body in its original color. The valve drive-belt was changed at 65,000 km. All replacement parts are new, genuine BMW; no used parts or 'adaptations' were ever put in. The entire car is in its original state, down to the BMW Bavaria business cassette player radio
The Z1 is located in Europe. It was only driven during summer in the south of France. Delivery can be arranged NO COST. Contact us for a quote on 310 614 0796. For technical details of the BMW Z1 type see:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_Z1.

The value appreciation of this car was flat until 2011, but has been rising steeply ever since. This is an opportunity for a buyer who wants to enjoy the uniqueness of this model and have its value increase simultaneously. There is no shortage of mechanical spare parts, since the Z1 is based on the mass-produced popular BMW 3-series of the time.
