1974 BMW 2002 Base Additional Info:
All original 1974 BMW 2002.
I have 100+ photos, including the bottom, and videos of motor running, on Google Drive. Please message me for link.
The car is all original - perhaps with the exception of the aluminum rims. (Two steel wheels are in the trunk.)
The interior has the original horsehair seats, original vinyl/leather/whatever fabric, original carpet and headliner. All of the knobs and bells and whistles are there. She's a classic, even has that "old BMW smell".
All of the upper body chrome trim is there and installed, running board trim is included but not installed.
The motor is smooth and powerful at operating RPMs. A really great sound, like new. Mixture supplied by a Weber 32/36 carb - not fuel injected (that would be a BMW 2002tii).
The engine compartment is all original, with little to no bas*ardization.
Tires are like new, with little nubbies still sticking out everywhere.
There are no dents or impact damage to my knowledge.
RUST:
Well, the car needs body restoration, obviously. That's why the price is not $15,000.
She will need new front fenders, and the rear wheel arches replaced or fitted with fender flares. Other small areas (bottom corner of doors, for example) can be repaired. Not terribly complicated. A quick Google search turned up new fenders for $185 each, and a pair of exterior rear wheel arches for $159.
The rear shock towers are solid, and the underbelly of the car is in remarkably clean condition.
Recent work:
New front calipers and master cylinder. Six new brake hoses are supplied with the car.
