1986 BMW 3-Series Compact Additional Info:
The one and only first 325ix off the production line. Found in Upper Rocky Mountains this barn find has stayed with one family since being purchased in 1985. Not only was this 325ix the first to be sold but the first M20 B25 imported to North America. I have all documentation of the importation and catalytic converter testing from the EPA dating to 1985 and 1986. I also have the original US government documentation using this vehicle to clear BMW to bring over the M20 B25, leading the path to the 325i and 325is, 325ix.
My ix is very different than any others you will see, euro ecu, 3.56 differentials, vin matched factory houndstooth and a completely different body kit.
Recent service includes:
timing belt in 2013
cv joints and control arms in 2013
bilstein shocks in 2012
I have a few other service records as well.
This car is original and can fit two purposes. One it really should be restored. It has all the original panels and original glass-no cracks in the windshield. You will never find the first production one ever again.
Second it can be daily driven. The front brakes are soft and need to be replaced. Small power steering link on the filter. Blower fan works on speed 4. Instrument panel works when it wants to. Also like every ix e30 the ac needs to be rebuilt. Unfortunately will probably need to be changed over to US spec as the lines are very different. Motor should be completely strip and resealed to be back to original.
Extra parts:
Rear License Lights
Two IX to fix rust
US radio harness-never came with one
E30 power antenna
