1973 BMW 2002 Additional Info:
Hey all,
I have my 3rd BMW 2002 up for sale. I bought this car from a gentleman in Northern California in September of 2016. Spent the last year and quite a few dollars restoring the vehicle. The car is a salvage title but this didn't and still doesn't concern me. What happened was the previous owner got in a small front end collision in a parking lot and the insurance company claimed it to be totaled. The car drives quite well and was restored at the hands of two shops here in Seattle. First was Prova Motorsports. They are known for their suspension work which is why I spent time getting the bushings, sway bars, struts, springs and control arms all replaced there. Most is Ireland Engineering. Prova also installed the Euro Bumper and the Ansa Exhaust. Second was Midnight Motorsports which is a 2002 only shop here in Seattle. Patrick had his hands on the vehicle towards the end of the restoration just fine tuning various things under the hood.
The car has a Tii engine but the shell is from a regular 02. I am aware that the Salvage title and mismatched Vins will concern some purists but this car is nice.
I restored the interior with the help from a gentleman in California who restores the door cards. I bought the carpet kit from Esty and installed it myself. I had Ballard Custom Audio install a Bluetooth capable stereo with two 6x9 speakers in the rear and a couple 6.5 inch in the door cards. The stereo sounds great.
If you are looking for a fun 2002 with a tii engine to get you a bit more performance where the details were attended to but you aren't a 02 purist, this car could be perfect for you. I will probably regret setting the car but my attention span is short and I only have a one car garage.
Sincerely,
Jack Walsh
