1976 BMW 2002 Additional Info:
1976 BMW 2002. Manual Transmission. Rare original color. Granatrot Metallic Red No. 025 that collector's seek. See color chart below.
An original California car purchased in Texas in 2014 that has no corrosion. The undercarriage is impressive for its age. A mechanically straight car with better than stock engine/power. Car starts, runs and shifts fantastically and all appearance items are good. Original color with one time paint. Interior is a nice black with new front and rear carpet mats. The dashboard has been covered in leather in November 2014. Still has new leather smell. Nice Hella fog lights on separate switch and relay. A Kenwood stereo with (Bluetooth, USB port, Satellite ready). Nice placement of speakers in rear deck with dome tweeter speakers and mid-range on doors. Interior door panels in nice shape, and seats are in excellent shape. New aftermarket belt moulding. Engine detailing, trunk detailed with special paint and liner. New tires with Rota wheels. All new peripheral ( alternator, voltage regulator, water pump, radiator, ignition, plug wires, new 32/36 weber carburetor with electric choke. New Gear shift knob. Euro flat turn signal upgrade. MOMO Steering Wheel. Remote door locks and alarm.
Appears all electrical works except the tachometer and no A/C. Added volt meter on dash works. Custom dual exhaust sounds great and has a great mild raspy tone. Rubber in doors, windows, quarter windows, trunk seal, door handles all look good with minimal wear. Only the rear window seal could be replaced. Headliner appears to have been replaced and is in great shape except above back window that came loose and has been reattached.
The car is in very good shape but could use a few things to be perfect. These all can be done while driving and enjoying the car. The car is perfect for a collector who wants 40 year old car with no rust and would need an easy paint job to have a perfect exterior. The engine is excellent.
The areas that require improvement are the following:
1 small scratch on Driver's side that can be buffed. 1 scratch on Passenger Door that has been touched up. Scratch underneath Gas Cap that has been touched up. Mirror on Driver's side is loose. No A/C. Tachometer is stuck. A tear in the Gear shift boot.
This ride is ready for daily use, weekend fun or make minor improvements to end up with a perfect collectible 2002.
