1992 BMW 8-Series Additional Info:
Excellent paint, no body damage, no rust, no repaired rust, nice interior, the heat and AC work. New BFG tires on 18" staggered BMW wheels. The seat backs move w/ power. Lower seats do not. Driver window switch controls all four power windows, and all four work. The passenger window switch does not work--you have to have the driver raise/lower it from the driver's door button. I spent $1000 on a box and amp to blend in with the factory sound system. That can be included or not, depending on buyer. The two electronic devices in the glove box were there when I got it...I never messed with them. The current in-dash CD player stays with the car either way.
I have too many vehicles and am "thinning the fleet" so to speak. I've got two V-12 BMW's, a Mercedes SL500 V-8 convertible, and a C5 Corvette on Hagerty classic car insurance. I have another six or so on regular Allstate insurance, two car trailers, a Dodge 4x4 tow rig, etc.
I recently sold three cars, two motorcycles (I am done with two wheeled toys...getting old), and I scrapped three cars last week. In short, some of it is going down the road. I have owned junk, medium, and premium cars---had about 150 of them all together over the years, so I know my junk from regular driver cars, to nice stuff. I've had it all!
Insurance is very reasonable for this, if you have a good driving record.
Yes, the pop-up headlights work just as they should.
Auto Check showssome B.S. salvagetitle from the 90's. The person I bought this from had a clear title--no salvage/rebuilt/reconstructed/whatever title from New Jersey. I have a CLEAR Ohio title-- no salvage/rebuilt/reconstructed/whatever in my name. I have no idea what The Auto Check report is referring to. I have ownedover 150 vehicles. If a car is painted black it will show any and every flaw. The body on this car looks flawless for being 25 years old.
I have two BMW V-12's (other is a 2001 750il), and both are "finicky" when started cold. After a few minutes, they run just fine. It does not die when started, it just runs a bit rough until the temperature gauge starts to move. This is a very common issue. Keep in mind: This car is 25 years old. I have historical plates on it. It was valued by Hagerty Classic car insurance for $19,000. I have four cars though Hagerty. See pictures. Do not expect a brand new car. Opinions are like--well you know what--but I have always thought these were the best looking cars ever made since I was in high school. I am on the wrong side of 40 now, and I still think the same.
I would not hesitate to leave my house in Ohio right now and drive it to California today.
It is not a loud car, but it has a good exhaust sound. I believe it has Magnaflow mufflers on the rear...according to the exhaust shop guy.
The two items in the glove box are either not hooked up, or I am too ignorant to use them! They do not look cheap, and they look professionally installed, but as far as I am concerned, they are useless.
These cars are very rare. People gawk at it and compliment all the time. They only imported approximately 7700 (yes, seventy seven hundred--not seventy seven thousand) into the US from 1989-1999. I have yet to see another one on the road in Ohio since I bought it last winter. Some people literally think it is a new model from BMW. The looks of this car do not age, IMO.
It runs, drives, steers, shifts, stops as it should. As mentioned, it does run a bit rough when started. It does not tick, knock, or make any bad sounds. It is a 25 year old BMW V-12! Overdrive automatic transmission. 108,301 miles.
