Introduction
Up for sale is my beautiful 1991 BMW 318is aka “E30”. As a preface, I want to say that it was very difficult for me to come to terms with posting this car for sale, since I have spent so much time and money over the years restoring it to its showroom condition. But we are finally getting the opportunity to buy a home, and this sale will significantly help facilitate that. Below I have written a lot of information about my history with this car, but please, take your time and closely view all of the images I have posted on my gallery so you can get a very good understanding of what I have offered for sale. Here is the link to my website where there is over 50 hi-quality photos of the car:

.
I just purchased a new Carfax report. Took screenshots of each section, and the report is available to view on my external photo gallery, please follow the link above to see it.
Side Note
I fully realize that the asking price is probably out of the range for most people in the market for an e30… This is without a doubt a collector’s piece, and I am looking for a collector like me who loves these little cars, and wants to hold onto it. If you want to S54 swap an e30 and drag it, you can easily find a dozen project e30s any day of the week. This car is for someone wants something special that is ready to go, fully restored. Completely at home on a polished checkered floor garage, or at a vintage car show. This car is perfect and fully drivable with no flaws or problems whatsoever. And yes, I have put a lot of money into getting this car to the level of finish and perfection that it is currently at, and I am hoping there is someone out there who can appreciate that level of attention to detail and wants this car for his or her collection.
Back Story
What I have here is a nearly all original, stock 318is (E30). I purchased this beauty from a gentleman in San Luis Obispo on November 15, 2013 (see photo in my gallery from the day I picked it up) and drove her straight home to Redlands, CA. It was already in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition when I bought it, but I had dreams to restore it to a near perfect state, as if it just rolled off the showroom floor. The engine and mechanical components of the car were already in very good running condition at the time, so for me, the biggest objective was to bring the cosmetics of the car back to a showroom condition.
Exterior
Starting with the exterior of the car, we took it to a very top-notch auto body shop in Redlands, called Banda’s Auto Body. I have had numerous vehicle restorations completed at this shop over the years. So I knew they had the capability to provide the level of quality I was looking for. The car received a full exterior paint job restoration. What that means in dollars is about $12,000. In terms of work, it means they stripped nearly every part off the body (glass, sunroof, hood, doors, trims, bumpers, etc.). The car was sanded to bare metal. Any blemish or dent repaired. Then fully painted top to bottom inside the engine bay and trunk with multiple stages and clears. Even though we completed the paint job a couple years ago, as it sits right now, the body is 100% flawless, with not a single dent, scratch or blemish in the paint. As a testament to the quality of work, the car has been driven, been in the rain, etc. and the paintwork is still absolutely perfect in every regard. Other items of note on the exterior; Some things were completely replaced with brand new OEM parts, like the windshield and some of the plastic trim pieces, lights, and grill.
Interior
The interior is by far my favorite part of this baby. Starting with the obvious, the original front and rear seats were fully reupholstered in deluxe OEM color-matched tan leather, with matching OEM seat patterns and micro-perforations to match the original seats. The seat backs are also wrapped in the tan leather. New matching door cards front and rear. Brand new OEM headliner. Brand new carpet throughout, including the rear shelf, with new floor mats as well. New OEM crack free dash and M shift knob were also installed. Brand new door thresholds, and rubber trims. All of the other elements of the interior are nearly perfect. And everything is fully functional and operating like a new part should.
Engine & Trunk
As you can see in the photos, the engine bay is all stock. Over the years of ownership, I have maintained the car to the highest standards. Nearly every hose and plastic or rubber part has been replaced under my ownership. All fluids and oil have been replaced recently, including spark plugs. In short, the car is super reliable, runs like a champ and has ZERO mechanical issues. Of course, for any seriously interested party you may bring your mechanic to inspect/drive, or we can go to a local BMW service shop for an inspection. The trunk as you can see is very nice, has the OEM matching spare wheel and the tool kit is 99% complete (very rare).
