1957 BMW ISETTA Additional Info:
Up for auction is my 1957 BMW Isetta 300. This is the tropical model with front vent, sliding windows, open roof. I purchased the car because I felt the need for a microcar and the opportunity came along so I gave it a try. It turns out I'm not a microcar guy, the car is very unique and bar none very cool but I'm not comfortable driving it So here's the rundown, the car sat for 30 years and was purchased by a BMW motorcycle technician. He did an incredible job going through the car front to back and top to bottom. The original patina has been preserved, yes that is original paint. There is no rot on the body, the only spot that was repaired was under the battery and if I didn't tell you you would never know it was repaired. The engine was rebuilt, the brake system was completely gone through with new parts, tires are like new, Seat was recovered and a new top was installed. The engine runs great and it drives and shifts as it should. The gentleman I purchased the car from has driven it around 2500 miles since the rebuild. The car has a few dents and obviously weathered paint but it's perfectly fine as is and it would almost be a crime to paint it, they are only original once. If you want to talk about the car feel free to contact me for a phone number.
