THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. NO MAJOR DRIVETRAIN ISSUES.
This car is my current daily driver and may have higher miles when purchased. This car is a project car and I can no longer daily drive a project. I have owned the vehicle since January 12th, 2013. A lot of work has gone into it and most of the hard work is already done! This car has brought many smiles to my face, but due to personal reasons, I must now pass the car over to someone else.
IMPORTANT: This car is a project. It is by no means perfect, but most of the difficult work has been completed. It needs mostly cosmetic work on the exterior and minor things on the interior. The body is solid, there are only a few spots of rust, but they can be alleviated. No serious rot has been found.
Work that's been done (there has been much more; however, this is what initially came to mind):
Engine:- Running engine from an '89 iX with 140k miles installed at 137k miles- New freeze plugs- Almost all coolant hoses replaced, no cooling system leaks- Vacuum hoses replace, pcv, brake booster, etc.- Carbon build up cleaned from piston tops- New oil pan gasket- Air filter replaced- New spark plugs- Rebuilt OEM Bosch 12lb injectors- New oil pressure sensor- Replaced oil cooler- New motor mounts- New O2 sensor- Timing belt replaced with motor swap at 137k miles- New water pump- New intake manifold gaskets- New thermostat (care was taken to make sure that it was the correct thermostat)- All new accessory v-belts- New crankshaft position sensor- New ignition coil- New spark plug wires and distributor rotor- Many other gaskets replaced- Fuel filter has been replaced- New Spectra fuel pump- Throttle cable was adjusted in February and makes the throttle response feel much more lively
Exhaust:- Bosal OE Muffler- Custom catalytic converter professionally installed- All new exhaust gaskets
Drivetrain:- Front and Rear 4.10LSD, both have been replaced with healthier units- Strong transfercase, was inspected and is very clean- Transmission pump has been replaced- New transmission filter and fluid change- New bowden cable for gear selector- Custom braided stainless transmission cooling lines that are much easier to manage and make transmissionremoval and servicing much easier- New gaskets for front differential- New cover gasket for rear differential- Front CV axles/halfshafts have been rebooted recently
Steering:- New tie rod end links- Steering rack has been replaced within the last 3 years- New power steering lines and o-rings, no leaks!- Control arms replaced with brand new about 3 years ago
Brakes:- The brakes are strong and have plenty of life left
Interior:- All lights are working- Black comfort interior, charcoal carpet, light gray headliner- Factory seats and steering wheel, seats and steering wheel are very clean- Sleek Kenwood head unit/reciever, fits well and does not take away from the vintage feel of the car- Factory premium Harmon Kardon rear speakers- Dash is clean, but has several small cracks- Black leather parking brake boot with red stitching- Instrument cluster is fully working
Climate Control:- A/C is removed; however, a full A/C system built for r134a will be included- A/C Evaporator has been re-insulated- r134a Expansion valve and cabin lines have been installed and are ready for use- Heater core does not leak
Other:- No check panel lights!- Fully passed MO State Inspection on 3/6/2017- New Nitto NT Extreme All-Season Tires- Spare wheel included (needs a tire)- Z3 Antenna- Windshield wiper blades have been replaced within the last 2 years- New wiper lines, and electric fluid pump- Hinges and pins on front doors have been replaced over the summer- New sway bar end links- Just replaced hood shock
The main issues with this vehicle are:- Low engine idle when the vehicle warms up- The car needs body work- Needs a new paint job- Needs some suspension work, but still handles exceedingly well- There are also a couple of small leaks (a couple drops of fluid per day)- Needs a new blower motor for climate control- There are the typical issues that come with a project
There are a few parts that are uninstalled such as the fog lights and brake ducts for the front valance (also some interior pieces); however, I will include them with the car. I will also include many other spare parts such as an engine wiring harness, front subframe, front driveshaft, transmission parts, oil pump, oil pan, sway bar, an "885" M20B25 head, and many other spare parts and hardware pieces.
