I have owned this car for over two years, purchased it from Utah where it was owned by two friends since new. I am listing for sale because I picked up another car and am struggling to justify keeping both.
Here is a summary of the car’s history:
- Purchased in December 1987 by someone in Utah - took European delivery. I have the German plate used while in Europe.
- The car was shipped to and remained in Provo, Utah through 2015.
- It was passed on from the original owner to a friend in 1996. The friend, the second owner of the car, was a school teacher in Provo.
- One minor accident during second ownership - hit in the rear while parked. Trunk floor and driver's rear quarter panel were repaired.
- The second owner had the car painted by a close friend who had an auto body shop. The repaint is not concourse but looks very clean from 5 feet and gets lots of “That looks new!” compliments.
- New interior seat covers installed in 2014.
- I have owned it since October 2014. It was put in storage the last two winters and has not seen snow or salt.
- Records prior to my purchase are somewhat limited - good for mileage verification and recent service work (drive belts, intake seals, hoses, etc. - within last 10k miles)
- I have put over $7k into the car since purchasing, this includes:
New OEM Exhaust Installed
Valve adjustment and plugs
New AC Compressor, Receiver, etc. (R-12)
Tie Rods
Rebuilt shift linkage
New Starter (July 2015)
New Alternator + Belt (Early December 2015)
Factory Stereo + Bluetooth
Needs:
The car is currently running well. It has some minor needs:

• Sunroof trim is worn and could use replacement (see pics.) From washing the car there are no issues with water leaks, purely cosmetic.
• Front bumper / trim has plenty of nicks due to normal driving. It’s not obvious from 5 feet / under most lighting conditions so I have not been too concerned with it.

Notes:

• Minor oil leak from engine. It appears to be primarily from the valve cover.
• Paint on the hood has some imperfections in the center near the windshield. You need to be looking for it - most people do not notice.
• Very few nicks and minimal blemishes on body
• Very minor rust spots on driver’s side rear wheel arch –- difficult to see unless you are looking for them. (See pics)
• Small crack on passenger side rear tail light
• Fuel door is bent slightly. New fuel door (unpainted) will be included.
• Steering wheel pictured is the M-Tech I 370mm. It makes a big difference vs. the stock steering wheel. It is not included in the sale but is available at a discount to the buyer.
• Wheels were refurbished by prior owner. All weather tires were on the car when I purchased it - I never got around to upgrading them and never felt the need based on my driving style.
