Power, grace and elegance best describes this 1990 Bentley Turbo R Sedan. Freshly serviced with a new radiator, coolant reservoir, hoses, hydraulic lines and front brake pads and rotors. New Michelin LTX tires. I have owned this very special car for the past ten years and it has always received immaculate care. Title is clear with no liens and is ready to be handed over at the time of payment. Runs and drives. Buyer takes car as-is.
The Bentley Turbo R is a high-performance automobile which was produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1985 to 1999. The "R" stood for "roadholding", to set it apart from its predecessor. It initially inherited the turbocharged engine from the Mulsanne Turbo and also sported a retuned suspension and wider tires on alloy wheels, a first for a Bentley. From the 1987 model year (20,000 series chassis numbers), however, the Turbo R's V8 engine was retuned with fuel injection for added torque. Motor Trend called the Turbo R "the first Bentley in decades deserving of the famous name" in their review of the car on its introduction to the United States in 1989.
Exterior Color: Royal Blue paint with a clear coat finish and ruby pin striping at waistline.
Interior Color: Navy blue hIdes with ruby piping, burled walnut veneers on dash, console and trim. The door caps feature burled walnut veneers with a boxwood marquetry detail. The headline is upholstered in an Navy color worsted wool fabric. The Dark Navy color wool carpet has a ruby leather binding with matching rear foot rest and trunk interior.
I own and operate two nationally franchised automotive repair facilities. The car runs and drives. I purchased the car and it was not running. All of the following repairs were performed within the last 250 miles. We placed two wiring pigtails to two engine coolant temperature sensors (this vehicle has 4). I also ended up replacing, good measure, the additional coolant temperature sensors. The radiator started leaking within the last two months. Rather than order a replacement radiator (which was plastic and aluminum). I had one custom made out of brass and copper, which cost me $650, and that was a wholesale deal. This radiator with proper fluid maintenance, will last a generation. Also replaced were all 4 tires to a Michelin LTX 9 ply tire which retail is over $350 per tire plus mounting and balancing. While these were being replaced I had the brakes and rotors replaced (this car has two calipers per wheel), $2500 in parts and labor. All fluids have been changed, oil filter and air filter were changed, of course synthetic oil was used. This vehicle can be driven from the facility after it is purchased but, is being sold AS IS. The exterior interior condition should be apparent in the pictures. There is sun damage to the leather at the rear seat back. A small piece of the veneer in the central part of the dash has flaked off. The front seats have rips in them.
. The bottom line ladies and gentlemen, is that this car sold for $200,000.00. It runs, drives stops, accelerates, etc. The parts alone in a running, driving Bentley Turbo R could garner $15,000 - $20,000. So lets keep that in perspective.
