How do you follow up the classic mini? With a bigger mini. This is a Vanden Plas Princess 1100 a upscale version of the Austin 1100/1300 ado 16 lines car or as we had here in the USA the Austin America /MG 1100. Also one of the last few times Vanden Plas is used as the model name before it regulated as trim level for Jaguar. I have owned this car since 2018 and it comes with a clean Texas title in my name. I would classify this car as a project that need the engine gone over. Exterior: The paint is in great condition, it is known as Carlton gray. All stainless trim is present and in good shape. The Grill is also in good shape with no dents on it. The body itself does have a dent by the driver door. The princess did get a full restoration back in the 80s and doesn't have any issue of rust that many of these cars had. Interior Often dubbed the mini Rolls Royce due to its full Connelly leather interior, walnut wood veneer and wool headliner. 1966 is the last year of the first series of these car and this is the final year BMC used full leather. The leather is in fantastic shape but the wood is starting to show its age. The rear window rubber seal is due for replacing as it lets water seep in. Also this is a original left hand drive car Electrical The car was originally positive ground, it has been changed over to negative ground. Though it can be easily changed back if since all the wiring is still in place. The voltage regulator is a dummy box. The only thing that doesn't work is the washer fluid sprayer and the reverse lights. Everything else works as it should Engine The original 1100 A-series engine was swap in the early 2000s to a 1275 A-series engine from a Austin America. Same engine used in the Classic Minis. The car does have a four speed manual transmission. It also is powered by twin hs2 carbs. Currently the car does need its carbs set up and engine looked over as it currently has issue that keep it from driving. It can be turn on and moved around but not roadworthy at this time.
