1964 Austin Mini Cooper S
Has been in our family since 1979, purchased from a private seller in Reading, England. It has been in storage in the US since 1992, during which time, it was never registered or driven in the US.
Since getting the car out of storage in approximately 2018, the twin fuel tanks have been completely refurbished and the twin S carburetors rebuilt with all genuine parts from SU (see additional detail below). New ignition wires have been installed, and a new throttle cable. The car also had the original wheels refinished, and new tubeless tires installed, including the spare.
The carbs, fuel tanks and exhaust were removed and will be included, but not installed on the car.
All new, authentic badging.
This Cooper S has been upgraded with period correct parts from Oselli Tuning in England. The 1275cc engine was bored to 1345cc by Oselli. The car also has an Oselli airbox, Oselli camshaft, performance Oselli clutch, Oselli flywheel, and it also has the original hydrolastic suspension, which appears to be intact.
Twin Original Fuel Tanks: Fuel tanks completely drained and inspected, flushed using KBS Klean and Rust Blast chemicals. Pin-holes located and sealed using KBS NuMetal epoxy putty and KBS Tank Sealer used to completely coat tank internal surfaces. KBS Rust Seal used as exterior top coat, along with new fuel sending unit, gasket, lock ring and locking gas caps.
SU Carburetor - Twin HS2: Complete disassembly of carbs, linkage, manifolds, and Oselli air box. All parts soaked and cleaned in ultrasonic tank, thoroughly inspected and reassembled with the majority of parts sourced directly from SU-Burlen, Salisbury, UK. Key parts include jet assemblies, jet bearing, float needle valves and seats, float chamber adapters, ethanol proof floats and all gaskets/grommets. All new braided fuel lines and clamps, plus in-line fuel filters before and after electric fuel pump. All settings and adjustments completed per SU technical specifications.
