RARE PIECE OF METROPOLITAN HISTORY! 1957 right-hand-drive Austin (AMC, Nash, Hudson) Metropolitan purchased by Jimmy Valentine of Metropolitan Pit Stop in early 1990s and shipped to the United States from England. This is one of two known RHD convertible Metropolitans in the United States. The rust repair, body work, and new paint job in the original colors of Berkshire Green and Frost White was done in 1992 along with a new original style wiring harness. The car was then displayed in the museum at Metropolitan Pit Stop for 33 years until 2025 when it was gone through to make it ready for sale. In 2025 a new convertible top and complete new interior were installed. A great deal of mechanical work was done including a rebuilt engine (more desirable high compression 1500cc from a later model car), new clutch and clutch hydraulics, complete overhaul of the brakes, new wheel bearings and seals all around, new leaf springs and bushings, and new shocks front and rear.
Every effort has been made to accurately represent the condition of the vehicle. Please inspect all pictures closely and feel free to ask any questions or request additional pictures or information. This is a 68-year-old used vehicle and does have some imperfections. The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will do everything I can to assist in the process. $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of purchase or close of auction, with the remainder of the price paid within 7 days.
