1952 Austin Additional Info:

I have owned this cool 1952 AUSTIN SHEERLINE for twenty seven years. It has been parked in the back of my garage all that time. I acquired it from another collector who also had it in his garage for many years. It was imported from England in the sixties and has been in California for over 50 years. It has always been my intention to fix up the cosmetics as the car is in good mechanical condition. I have now come to the realization that I will never have the time to give to this car the attention it needs. I recently pulled the car out of storage, installed two new batteries (2 x 6volts = 12volts), drained the tank, changed the oil and filter and the old girl fired right up!! The car was driven up and down the street. 4 litre .6 cyl Austin A125/A135 engine. 4 speed column shift. Clear California title in my name. Comes with a hydraulic jacking system that lifts all four wheels from the ground at the same time. Included withe the car is a re-conditioned steering wheel that I acquired many years ago, as well as a set of all new plastic dash knobs. Also comes with the original owner's handbook, full workshop manual, parts manual and original toolkit. Tires are dry and the interior needs re-upholstering. Originally had leather seats in the front and West of England wool cloth in the rear. The Sheerline limousine has become a rare car and this survivor needs a new custodian. Many of these cars were junked in England in the seventies when the headlights alone were worth more than the whole car. A running driving Bentley MK6 cost less than $1000 at that time in England. You are welcome to visit in Tarzana (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles). Please call 818 705 8655. I hope this interesting old car finds a new owner who can give it the attention it deserves. I have too many projects in my grand old age!
