1932 American Austin Bantam -- Additional Info:

1932 American Austin Bantam Series A Excellent Restored Example Correct 1932 Drivetrain – 13hp! Well Documented & Enthusiast Owned Engine #: L10098 Body #: AZ153168 Chicago Car Club is pleased to present this 1932 American Austin Bantam! Exterior: - Please see the video accompanying the listing, as that will provide the best look at the car. - Paint shows very nicely, and the car was resprayed in 2006. The color is Vermilion Red, a Ford color from the 90s. There are very few blemishes. While we often see... the front fenders, hood creases, and headlight mounts all scratched up on cars like this, this one is quite clean. No dust under the paint, it presents very well. - Driver’s window has a crack. Windows track nicely, doors open and close easily. Interior: - Tan bench seat shows little to no wear. Same with the black carpeting. - Speedometer is functional. Odometer is not. - Headliner is tight. Not perfectly spotless, but very good. Underbody / Under Hood: - 4 cylinder “L” head type. 750cc, 13hp at 3100rpm. 5.0 to 1 compression. Engine number L10098 places the motor between 1930-1933; as this car is a 1932 model, this engine is more than likely the original unit. - Transmission is a 3spd manual and shifts well. - Service receipts include a carburetor rebuild and transmission fluid flush in 2015, a head gasket and speedometer cable replacement in 2008, five tires and new mud flaps installed in 2006, and details of a 2006 repaint. - Underbody is very nice. Free of any rust – through or surface. This is a restored car that has been garage kept. - Car will come with quite a bit of documentation. A first edition (1930) American Austin Bantam instruction book, an original American Austin publication with period reviews of the Bantam, as well as a handful of service receipts and many informational booklets and handwritten notes.
