Very rare opportunity to own this 1971 Austin Mini. This was a Mini brought over from London and titled as a 1971. These are rare cars, but this one is VERY rare indeed, a genuine original rust free 99 Mini, unmolested, from the same owner since 2002. Features:
Yes, it is fuel injected, and yes it has an air bag. All from the factory! How many classic mini's have that??! !
-MFI 1.3 litre BMC engine
-4 speed trans
-15" wheels
-fog lights
-34k original miles, well kept garaged, rarely in rain
-recent front seats have been recovered, engine was pulled for repair of a minor leak, recent engine mount replacement. Always well maintained.
This car has been a reliable and trusty car for the past 14 years. Had been used by my pro race team as a track errand car. It fit easily in our transporter, hauled 4 people easily, was efficient, and of course VERY light, making it the perfect trackside car for the race team. Has recently has the engine out to repair a bad engine mount and oil leak, and has the interior redone due to some wood panel delamination and other minor issues. There is no rust I can detect anywhere on the car, and it has been a great car for us. We no longer race, and have limited use for this little beauty, so it needs to go. You'll find mini's when you look, but anything this late is VERY hard to get. Paid a fortune for this car in 2002 in London when it had just 3000 miles on the odometer since new. The rest of the 30k miles has been tooling around as our support car. Car handles well with the 15" wheels, and runs great. Being fuel injected it always starts well, and runs well. This car makes great power for a mini, it will go 100 mph (feels like 300). Has a fabric headliner.
Recently had some touch up work done to repair minor scratches on the right front fender and roof. This car is not perfect, but it is better than almost any 15 year old car you will ever see with 35000 miles on it. Always garaged, has seen very few sunlight days, paint and interior in excellent shape. I little bit of detailing and this beauty would be near perfect.
There are a few pieces of minor trim in the interior missing, bezels behind the door locks and window cranks, all very minor. Bezel around stereo is missing also. The pictures detail the few flaws.
