Up for sale is a 1959 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite, a fantastic candidate for restoration. This Sprite has only minimal rust on the rear deck, making it an excellent and solid project car. The paint is original, with the exception of the rear deck area where a previous owner began stripping it.
A roll cage has been added, but otherwise the car remains original. The car is complete; however, the front wheel assemblies are currently not installed due to a front disc brake conversion in progress. All brand-new disc brake conversion parts are included with the sale.
Many additional new parts are included, and any parts that have been removed are carefully packaged and labeled. The car comes with steel wheels with chrome center hubcaps, as well as a new gas tank.
The interior is in good condition, including the seats and dashboard. The previous owner drove the car into his shop to begin restoration, but I have not attempted to start it since purchasing it.
It is powered by the original 948cc naturally aspirated engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.
My original plan was to restore this car with my grandsons, but due to changes in my health, I am no longer able to complete the project. This is a rare opportunity to restore a classic British sports car with tremendous character and charm.
