Vehicle Original VIN : HBJ8L38690The Healey 3000, also known as the "Big Healeys" were built by BMC from 1959 through 1967. The car's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors, with the cars being assembled in the MG factory alongside other MG models. Another interesting fact is that over 90% of the 3000 sports cars were exported, mostly to the US. The Mark III, which began production in 1964, would have the highest horsepower of 150 increasing the total power of about 30% over the previous MKII cars. This absolute stunning example that we here at GR Auto Gallery of Traverse City are proud to represent has had basically two bare metal re-sprays in the last twenty years. The last one at the tune of over $35,000 was done in 2020 because of a scratch and small dent on the rear deck lid, prompting the owner to have the entire car re-sprayed again. At that time, some minor mechanicals were freshened as well. There is a full zip drive of all work done in pictures and receipts. This car was also first professionally restored prior to the owner purchasing the car in 2007 by British Motor Corp. out of Philadelphia, PA with a full body and mechanical refurbishment. This Healey is a numbers matching engine with a color change from Ivory White to Healey Blue. This car comes with a Heritage trust cert as well. The paint, interior, chrome and convertible top are all in very good condition as are the mechanicals. Everything works as it should including the overdrive, lights, gauges, heater etc... This car starts easily and idles almost immediately. It shifts through all the gears properly, has a excellent ride with handling and braking. It has no funny noises or smells, does not rattle or clunk and garners attention at every turn. This is an investment grade car that needs a second look if you are in the market for the final year MKIII Healey.
