1965 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8
This 1965 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 previously underwent a restoration. The car presented here was built on January 13-14 of 1964 and the originally date of dispatch was February 5th of 1964. This Austin Healey is a matching numbers car as per the British Motor Industry Trust Certificate and finished in the original color combination of Colorado Red with Black interior. We went through this car repairing, upgrading and improving the overall drivability, reliability and a few cosmetics. As we understand the engine was previously rebuilt and is very strong with high compression numbers and great oil pressure. The car runs and drives excellent with great compression of 155 to 160 psi across all 6 cylinders. All gauges and switches work as they should as the Tachometer was rebuilt and the dual Temperature/Oil Pressure gauge is new. Furthermore, the electric overdrive does work as it should as we did repair the overdrive. A gear reduction starter was installed for improved starting. In addition, a new steering control head was installed and signals were repaired. Furthermore, we had the transmission pulled and completely resealed to repair all leaks. The heater was repaired and works as it should. Also, newer chrome wire wheels, tubes and tires were installed. There is NO rust on this car anywhere. The body panels were taken off during the restoration and the wheel wells and frame are all painted body color as is the engine compartment. There is no undercoating on this car either. Over $10,000.00 was invested in the spring of 2023 to improve the overall condition of this car mechanically and cosmetically. The car drives beautifully with exceptional power and also shifts between the gears easily with no noises in the gears. It is ready to go to be a good driver for next owner. Please note: This Austin Healey BJ8 was built in early 1964, but was originally titled in 1965.Agreat and FIRM price for an all sorted, rust free, mechanically sound and nice restored driver Austin Healey! You will not a find a better Mark III BJ8 for less.
