1964 Austin Healey 3000 Mk II BJ7 Additional Info:
HIGHLIGHTS: Clean California car that came to NC in 2002. Documented ownership history back to 1991, lots of documented maintenance in the last few years. This unusual little car drives great and is a blast to drive!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body is remarkably clean for an old British car, as one would expect for a California vehicle. The convertible top is fully functional, and while it has one small tear, it is in good overall condition. The wire wheels are also in great condition. This car appears to be an older restoration that has been driven and kept up over the years!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The paint on this Austin-Healey is in great shape, being that it appears to be an older paint job. While it shows minor signs of age and use, such as a nick here or there, it has plenty of shine to it, and you can tell that this car has been cared for since it was restored.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior of this old Healey is where it shines! The upholstery is in fantastic condition, and shows very minimal signs of use. Much like the exterior, the interior has been gone through and fixed up. It looks great! A custom dash piece has been fitted to include both a modern style radio and a 12v power outlet.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is what makes this Austin-Healey such a delight to drive. Equipped with an original Austin 6-cylinder engine, this puppy really purrs! The engine was removed from the car in 2016 to have various small repairs performed, including the replacement of various gaskets and repainting the engine. It sounds fantastic, and drives great! Power meets the road at the hands of a Toyota 5-speed transmission. If you're involved in the Austin-Healey community, you already know that the Toyota transmission upgrade is both worthwhile and sought after, as it requires minimal modifications when installed with the correct conversion kit. This is a Healey that is meant to be driven!
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The sound! This car has a properly British exhaust sound, and it is phenomenal.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: The fact that it is not 100% OEM original. The additions of things such as a third brake light and aftermarket radio aren't for everyone.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Not necessarily; this car can be driven and enjoyed as-is today! It could use a few minor repairs, such as the heater and radio, but for someone looking to cruise around in an affordable BJ7 next weekend, this is the car.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? The buyer for this car is anyone looking for an affordable & unique classic British car. The Austin-Healey brand is an essential British brand, and delivers that distinct classic look.
