1954 Austin Healey 100-4 Roadster Additional Info:

1954 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4 BN1 ROADSTER (100M LE MANS SPEC): --Old English White, Black leather interior, Black soft top, tonneau cover, 2.6 Liter inline 4-cylinder engine, 3-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, Restored to 100M LeMans Specification by marque specialists, Well known in Healey circles, Long-term collector ownership, BMIHT Certificate. The Austin-Healey 100-4 BN1 Roadster was introduced at the Earl’s Court – London Motor Show and was a huge success. This 100-4 was produced on August 31, 1954 and exported to the USA. While early history is unknown, this Healey was sold to its most recent owner in 1994 after previous long-term ownership. At time of purchase, the Healey was disassembled being prepared for restoration. Its new custodian, a writer for “Healey Marque Magazine,” continued the process and carried out the full restoration. The full body shell was stripped bare, properly cleaned and prepped and reassembled. The goal of the restoration was to not just create a show-winning car, but a car that would be utmost reliable and comfortable to drive to each show around the country. This BN1 was upgraded to 100M Le Mans specification, including a Motolita Derrington style wood steering wheel, louvred aluminum hood with leather strap, cold air box, Mondial racing pistons, SC Parts performance alloy cylinder head, stainless steel header & "big bore" exhaust, twin SU H6 1-3/4 inch carbs and 100M camshaft. It has also been fitted was an uprated anti-sway bar, Facet solid state electric fuel pump and a Pertronix Flamethrower distributor with integral electronic ignition. This BN1 retains its original 3-speed all-synchronized manual gearbox with electrically operated Laycock de Normanville overdrive on second and third, resulting in five forward speeds. Lastly, this BN1 utilizes later Healey 3000 BJ8 front disc brakes and rear drums. Throughout the years, this Healey has enjoyed attending many Austin Healey shows across the United States. After several miles of pleasured ownership, this BN1 went through a $15,000 recommissioning by Jeff’s Restorations in Texas including a fresh repaint in its original Olde English White and a new windscreen. Later on, a new tonneau cover was fitted, the heavy-duty lever-action shock absorbers were rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics and new leather seats were installed. This matching numbers early Healey has been thoroughly enjoyed and exceptionally well-cared for. Known in many Healey circles throughout the country, it is exceptional throughout with everything working properly and as it should. On a recent road test, this BN1 proved excellent in every respect. This BN1 is turn-key and eligible for many of the world finest tours and events. It is complete with its soft top, tonneau cover, side windows, jack, wheel hammer, spare wheel and BMIHT Certificate.
