1961 Sprite (Red, BAE 40421) Clear WA state title, Collector Vehicle plates.
Runs great, the engine, trans, seats, and instruments (complete with generator tach drive) are unaltered and original to the car. Hoses, clamps, and wiring appear to be original. The red body paint has scratches from storage, the fiberglass additions are well built and solid. This is a very low mile car, modified early in life, last registered in 1966 in Montana before moving to Washington in 2016.Tires and windshield are new, this is a unique fun car to drive.
1959 Sprite #2 (Grey BAE 14381) sold with Bill of Sale
This is a project car from Southern California, stored since 1990, fully disassembled, media blasted, and painted with grey epoxy primer. The engine bay, bottom side of the car, and sections of the interior were painted old English white. There is very little rust and the few places are shown in photos. The bonnet tilts forward, has modified sheet metal, and is in restorable condition. This is a solid usable tub originally intended for use with the red Sprite.
It has (4) Dan Gurney aluminum alloy wheels embossed “Wheel Distributor Inc, Ontario CA” on the back side. The rear suspension and axle are partially restored and painted Eastwood chassis black. It has a 1098 engine and rib-case trans taken from a running Mark II Sprite. Seats and gauges are Mark II as well. The engine/trans/rear are installed for transport, this is a non-running project.
Many extra parts are included:
Suspension parts, rear leaf springs, and steering rack.
Original Mark I seat frames, Bugeye door with hinges, 2 sets of side curtains, blinkers, wipers, bumpers etc.
Brake drums with hydraulic parts and metal hydraulic tubing lines.
Extra engine parts are oil pan, valve cover, oil filter mount, valve rocker set, exhaust manifold, etc
(2) fuel tanks with extra sending units, wire harness sets, gauges, trim, etc and some new parts are included.
Health reasons force sale.
***My plan was to build the grey bugeye to original specs then sell what's left of the red car to help fund the restoration. This is no longer possible for me so I’m motivated to sell.***
