Sure, it's an ultra sharp looking vintage roadster, but this 1964 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III Replica - Sebring 5000/MX is even more than that. It's carrying a welcome surprise under its hood - a V8 that equips it with outstanding acceleration, as well as a number of other upgrades to provide a more modern ride and precise handling to go along with its abundance of British charm. The red paint draped over exterior is a... vibrant shade, and a recent multi-stage detail has brought out its best, so this classic now has a silky smooth texture to go along with its even pigmentation. The fiberglass body just underneath provides this roadster with an outstanding power to weight ratio and from all appearances, it's in great alignment, with no sagging at the mid-point and good lines and precise gaps between body panels. This '64 has a really nice stance, with wheels set just a slight bit outward - not to the point of being distracting, but just enough to provide a slightly more aggressive appearance. It's got a very pleasing look from the front, with its oval front grille, wide set headlights and compact hood. The front pillars bracketing the windshield are really sharp. Step around to the side and you can see its nicely flared fender wells that match very nicely with the wider offset of the tires. The gray vinyl interior features a pair of rally-inspired bucket seats that provide a nice amount of support during more inspired driving - and no doubt the temptation for such driving is definitely there. There's a very nice looking Grant GT steering wheel sitting on the column which is allowing enough legroom underneath to avoid the cramped experience some other competitors leave you with. Farther forward, the dash area is great, with a full complement of VDO gauges recessed into its woodgrain instrument panel and a dash pad above with no cracks in sight. At the center is an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo that combines with speakers situated just behind the seating, as well as a 6-CD changer and amp mounted in the trunk for a great audio experience. The trunk itself shows a very solid condition, with clean gray carpeting lining its floor. Nestled into the tapered engine compartment is a 302 cubic inch Ford V8 that equips this compact ride with an abundance of power. It wears a 4-barrel Demon carb and Holley intake manifold under its chrome air cleaner and is in great form, starting right up with a turn of the ignition. The drivetrain is rounded out by a 3-speed automatic C4 transmission and an 8" Ford rear end whose use in vintage Mustangs over the years confirms its ability to handle V8 power. Furthering the Ford aftermarket theme, a Mustang II front suspension has also been added, affording not only an improved ride, but also power rack and pinion steering that eliminates the play often found in vintage steering boxes, as well as front disc brakes. The set of stylish 14" spoked wheels with their Pirelli tires are surrounded nicely by their wheel wells and provide just the right vintage finish. Below, the undercarriage components appear to be very solid and straight. Light weight combined with ample power has always been a formula for fun behind the wheel, and this sports car adds plenty of classic style into the mix. Call today!
