1961 Austin Healey 3000 Additional Info:
You are bidding on a fresh Barn Find 1961 Austin Healey 3000 BT7 that was completely disassembled and had some restoration work started and new parts purchased. Wy the project stalled - we do not know. We power washed the tub and scrubbed the sheet metal and tried to sort everything out. Take a close look at the photos and ask any questions. I have over 50 photos but could only post 24. Please contact me and I will send you the additional images. Here is some of what I know:
The Good:• The car appears to be very complete (missing pieces are listed below)• Previous owner went through a Healey parts catalog & marked everything that he had - that list to new owner• There are 3 nose sections (ony two are pictured)• There are 2 radiators (photographed - but not in the 24 shown)• There are 3 crankshafts - One is machined and ready• Heater box and blower unit complete (photographed - but not in the 24 shown)• Differential complete(photographed - but not in the 24 shown)• Two engine blocks included(photographed - but not in the 24 shown)• Many new engine parts including pistons and lifters• There are two hoods to choose from• Oil pan, wiring harness oil filter unit included(photographed - but not in the 24 shown)• Lots of new trim and stainless pieces• Five wire wheels and old tires are included(photographed - but not in the 24 shown)• Triple Carb unit is cleaned, and was rebuilt (at some time after removal from the car)• Overdrive transmission was rebuilt and tested good (at some time after removal from the car)• A lot of (what appears to be) nickel plating has been done to several small parts• Tonneau, top, door cards and interior pieces are old but included(photographed - but not in the 24 shown)
The Bad:• Missing parts are - flywheel, front bumper and front engine plate - we are returning to the barn to search for these• Clear title for this car is to a vin plate with a number other than the factory VIN - both vin plates are attached to the tub
The Bonus:In that this car is completely disassembled and not suitable for delivery via transport, if you can not make arrangements to pick it up in person, we can deliver within a 400 mile radius of the St. Louis area. Cost for delivery to be determined and payment for car and delivery must be made in full before delivery begins. The car is now loaded into my enclosed car trailer and is out of the weather.
