PLEASE NOTE, I NO LONGER BELIEVE THE PAINT TO BE ORIGINAL THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAINTED AND I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT AN ALL ORIGINAL "SURVIVOR" CAR BUT WAS PROBABLY RESTORED AT SOME POINT. PLEASE READ THE LISTING DESCRIPTION AGAIN AS I MAY HAVE REVISED IT SINCE YOU LAST SAW IT.This 1960 Bugeye Sprite is a perfect project car. The body has only one very small dent the size of a match head and the paint was not even damaged in the spot. The paint is chipping on the drivers side rear body line as shown in the photo. The paint on the hard top is also starting to chip off.
The paint has faded to a a dull flat red over time and the brilliant bright red can still be seen at the top of the doors. This is because there were door windscreens mounted for years. The door wind screens are in good shape and will come with the car.There is a little patch of paint bubbling in the center of the drivers side dog leg which can be seen in the photos. There is also a similar spot on the passenger side although not quite as bad as the one shown in the photos.
The floors on both sides have patch panels in place to cover holes in the pans. They can be seen in the photos. The interior is excellent with no rips or tears. I have installed a new battery and the car runs and drives.Videos of the car running and driving along with additional photos can be given upon request from serious buyers.The air cleaners are not shown in the photos but I do have them. Also the car will start, run and drivebut the throttle cable and carbs need to be tuned.The car does still need things to be road worthy as it has not been on the road in years and still has many original components. I am selling the car as in and recommend it be transported as a non op vehicle. You can not drive it home. Brakes will have to be gone through and all the normal safety mechanical checks as well.The windshield wipers work, the turn signals work, brake lights work, parking lights and headlights work as well... at least 1 headlight works if i remember right. Its the perfect light project car and great restoration project if you so desired.
Clear Texas title and original owners manual. The family states that this car has been owned by them since new in 1960.
