1963 Austin Healey 3000 Additional Info:
This car is a great driver originally restored many years ago. It is Colorado Red that has faded over the years, many say it should be repainted but I enjoy the patina of the aged original style enamel paint. The carpet has been replaced recently along with the dash facia. The seats are aged but again, they fit like an old shoe and I've enjoyed keeping them as they reflect the history of the car. The transmission and overdrive have been rebuilt within the last 1000 miles. The clutch was replaced at the same time. The car starts up easily and runs like a champ. Personally I enjoy driving the car the way it is with the exception of a few trim items, but it is also an excellent candidate for restoration. It has been my favorite Healey, it is much more nimble than my newer heavier 67 BJ8. This was the first model with roll up windows and quick pull up top. The top is aged but still functions well. All gauges work. The steering wheel is not a contemporary reproduction of a period wheel but is an aftermarket wheel produced in the period. It was restored and authenticated by a specialist in North Carolina. The car has been a good dependable car for me since I acquired it in 1994. I polishes up well and would look even better if it were professionally buffed out. But in the end, it's an old enamel paint job with fading and flaws. There isn't any significant rust that I'm aware of on the car. Please contact me with any questions.
The car is sold as is where is with no implied or expressed warranty. I reserve the right to remove the car from the auction as it is for sale locally.
