Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this fairly original survivor BJ-8 in the handsome color scheme of British Racing Green with Black trim. This car was recently purchased from it's owner in New York who had the car garaged for all of his ownership. The car appears largely original with the exception of an older repaint and softtop, and runs and drives very well. The bodywork on this car is fairly good. There have been a few repairs to the dogleg areas down low, but this car is way above the average of your typical East Coast Healey, as it has been garage stored. This car shows an excellent solid frame and outriggers, with only some typical lower fender and front passenger floor repair. The car was repainted at some point in it's same original color and there is some skinning over the front of the shroud, a typical budget body repair back in the day. Grille fit is good. Trunk floor is pretty decent.Chromework is all original along with an original windshield, all in decent order. The interior on this car is very original with a replaced carpet kit and new door panels, but the rest of it looks factory correct/original. The rear fold-down seat is missing, but is easily available. The car has a nice original feel to it overall with it's older cosmetics and highly original, unrestored engine compartment. The BJ-8 engine starts instantly on the key, revs hard and smooth (like only the original ones do...), has no smoke or noises and has plenty of power going down the road. Oil pressure gauge is stuck at 17lbs, which I know is wrong. The gearbox feels very good with nice syncros and gears, overdrive working correctly, all rolling smoothly along on a beautiful, newer radial tire/wire wheel set. The car drives OK, not very tight. It probably is due for the usual bushes/shocks that is required on these higher mileage Healeys.Overall, an attractive survivor BJ-8 in a fairly honest and original condition. These cars are desirable in this well-preserved state. This car currently runs and drives fine and would be a wonderful car for easy and enjoyable cosmetic improvement and some very minor mechanical down the road, but can be currently put into use as is.Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
