I have a nice 1964 Austin Healey Sprite Mark II Convertible that I am auctioning to the highest bidder. This car has been a "work in progress" restoration for many years and is about 95% complete. Sadly, the restorer did not live long enough to finish the project and I bought it fromhis estate. I have only driven it across town, about 10 miles. It shifts through all of the gears and it did not jump out of any gear. The clutch, or slave cylinder, probably needs to be replaced because the clutch does not seem to completely release. It also smoked a little. The car drove well and steered well. The motor is freshly painted and holds good oil pressure and does not over heat. The body has been painted red andit is agood job but thereis a place on the hood where the paint has peeled off. (see picture)There are a few rust bubbles under the paint on bothof the lower rear fenders. I also enclosed a picture of rust in a seam under the passenger seat floor pan. That is all of the rust that I can find, which is exceptional in a 54 year old car. The manual choke cableis not hooked up and it does not start quickly when cold. I know nothing more about this car other than what I described and discoveredin the drive across town. The car is located in San Angelo, Texas and I invite your inspection. I have a trailer and will deliver for an additional fair negotiated price. I believe that the car is worth $3800.00 and will start the bidding at that price with no reserve. I need to sell the car so will consider the highest bid if my price is not met. CallDwain at 325/656-8154 or e-mail me at morfenco@wcc.net for additional pictures or information.Call me before you bid if you have no history because I delete any bid that I deem is fraudulent. I will accept Certified Bank Cashier's Checks or personal checks but will hold both the car and the Title for 2 weeks to confirm funds. Bank transfers will be accepted and car and title will be released immediately upon confirmation of funds. Cash is favored. The car has a clear, lien free Texas Title, issued in my name. These oldBritish sports cars are becoming very rare and very expensive.Mine has great potential and would make a very nice driver with very minimal work. Thanks for viewing my ad.
