Becoming a very rare collectible model with values on the rise. The Sprite has been a favorite for British car enthusiasts for many years. Noted for their simplicity and reliability at an affordable price.
This Healey has been garage stored for many years and had been used as a weekend driver. It was taken off the road about 10 years. It has not been started since and is in non-running condition.
Looking for a good home for this great British Classic.
**I will be adding more pictures within the next few days.**
I purchased the Sprite from the long time ownerwho was a true British car enthusiast who had a nice collection of various British Roadsters. He had owned it for about 30 years and had taken it off the road about 10 years ago. The Healey is all original as it left the factory with the exception of the repaint in a lighter shade of green.
Mechanically the MG is in non-running condition. It was in running condition when it was put into storage approximately 10 years ago. The fuel tank was drained at that time. Under the hood as the pictures show, it is as it left the factory with all of the original factory paint on the engine and ancillaries. It still includes the factory air pump as well. I did hook up a battery (not included). The engine does turn freely, however it is not getting spark. I did not look into it further than that. Fuel pump works with the key on. The previous owner recommended changing the oil and going through the fuel system prior to starting.
Body: The original color was BRG and was repainted in the lighter green many years ago. The body is very clean with minimal rust spots. The body seams on the rear quarter panels are in excellent condition. Panel fit is excellent. Doors fit very nicely and the body shows no evidence of previous body damage. Trunk is in good condition and includes the spare tire as shown. There is rust underneath as shown in the pictures this includes rust holes. The floors will need to be repaired or replaced depending upon your goal.
The interior is in amazing original condition as shown in the pictures. The correct seats are in good condition. The door panels look new. Carpet is in good condition with the exception of the tunnel carpet which has a piece of carpet covering that area. The dash board looks brand new with no cracks. The speedometer still shows the original factory "trip odometer" reset sticker which is quite rare. The center console is fitted with the original factory AM radio which is in mint condition and is in working condition. The "Banjo" Steering Wheel is in fantastic condition with no cracks or damage.
I believe the Convertible is original to the car. The top frame looks brand new as shown in the pictures. The top fits well and is decent condition with a few places where the top has been taped. There is still remnants of the original factory windshield "Laminate" sticker which is quite rare.
ONCE AGAIN....A NO RESERVE AUCTION!
