1955 Austin Healey 100-4 100-4 Additional Info:
1953-56 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4, THIS IS THE 3RD CAR OF 5 100-4'S THAT I AM SELLING. IT IS THE WORST OF THE 5 AND IS PROBABLY, IN MY OPINION, NOT A GOOD START OF A PROJECT. THE NEXT CAR WILL BE A BETTER START FOR A RESTORATION AND IT WILL COME WITH MANY PARTS. THE FINAL CAR IS A RESTORED BN-2 THAT WILL HAVE A HIGH RESERVE. AGAIN I ASK THAT YOU BE PATIENT WITH ME ON THOSE 2 CARS AT THIS TIME I HAVE NO PICTURES, INFO OR PRICES ON THOSE 2 CARS.FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION RIGHT NOW IS THIS CAR THAT HAS SEEN QUITE A LIFE. I HAVE HAD MORE, THAN I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT, INTEREST IN THIS CAR AND HAVE PROMISED SEVERAL THAT I WOULD GIVE EVERY ONE A SHOT AT IT.THERE ARE NO BODY NUMBERS THAT I CAN FIND AND NO VIN OR ID TAGS PRESENT. IT IS SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE.THIS CAR I FOUND IN A WRECKING YARD IN AZTEC, NEW MEXICO SOME 25 YEARS AGO. IT WAS HALF BURIED IN SAND! I ASKED THE OWNER WHAT THE DEAL WAS ON THE HEALEY AND HE STATED THAT IT WAS NOT A HEALEY BUT RATHER IT WAS A TRIUMPH! SO I SAID WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR IT. I ENDED UP TRADING HIM A RENAULT LECAR THAT NEEDED A HEAD GASKET FOR IT. EVERYONE WAS HAPPY - I THINK. ENOUGH ON THAT.THE CAR HAD A V/8 IN IT IN ITS PAST AND THEN I BELIEVE THE FRONT WAS HIT, FORCING THE OWNER TO RETRIEVE HIS V/8 BY CUTTING OFF THE FRAME RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FIREWALL. THE KICK PANELS HAVE BEEN CUT FOR THE BIGGER ENGINE AND THERE IS A PLATE WELDED TO THE FLOOR FOR THE BIG TRANSMISSION THAT MUST HAVE BEEN IN PLACE.ALL 4 FENDERS ARE THERE BUT NOT BOLTED DOWN, BOTH DOORS COME WITH IT ALTHOUGH THE RIGHT DOOR WAS TORN OFF FROM ITS HINGES. THE REAR COWL HAS SOME STRANGE DAMAGE THAT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE TRIED TO PULL THE CAR WITH A CABLE THAT GOT AWAY FROM HIM.THE FRONT COWL IS REALLY DIFFERENT IN THAT IT APPEARS TO ME THE OWNER WAS TRYING TO RESHAPE IT TO LOOK LIKE A FORD COBRA. IT IS MUCH WIDER BETWEEN THE GRILL AREA AND THE HOOD OPENING THAN NORMAL BUT I DID NOT GET ANY OTHER PARTS THAN WHAT YOU SEE TO MAKE ANY SENSE OF IT. I WAS JUST GLAD TO HAVE RESCUED IT FROM THE CRUSHER BUT NEVER HAD ANY USE FOR ANY OF ITS PARTS.THERE IS NO HOOD OR TRUNK LID. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET.THE FRAME, WHATS LEFT OF IT, IS DECENT. EVEN AROUND THE BATTERY AREAS IT IS SOLID. THE FLOORS ARE VERY NICE AND THE TRUNK FAIR.WIPER MOTOR, LINKAGE, SOME SEAT TRACK PARTS AND E BRAKE LEVER IS THERE. BRAKE AND CLUTCH PEDALS STILL ATTACHED. NOT MUCH MORE.I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS.I HAVE NO WAY TO DELIVER THIS CAR AS IT IS NOT A ROLLING CHASSIS LIKE THE OTHER 4 CARS. I COULD BUILD A STURDY WOOD CRATE LARGE ENOUGH TO GET THE COWL, 4 FENDERS AND ONE DOOR INTO FOR AN EXTRA $150.THE REST OF THE CAR WOULD REQUIRE A LIFT AND SOME HELP THAT I WOULD GIVE WHEN YOU COME AFTER IT. THAT MUST BE SCHEDULED. TALK TO ME ABOUT ARRANGING THIS AS I WILL WORK WITH YOU. DELIVERY TO PHOENIX WOULD BE A PROBLEM BUT I COULD BE COAXED FOR A FEE.IF YOU BUY IT YOU CAN PICK IT UP RIGHT AFTER THE SALE - FIRST WEEKEND IS OK. AFTER THAT I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN FOR A WEEK SO YOU COULD PICK IT UP AFTER THAT.500$ BY PAYPAL AT END OF THE AUCTION - THE BALANCE PAID BY CASH OR WIRE TRANSFER BEFORE PICKING THE CAR UP.
THANKS FOR LOOKING,DAN
