Extremely rare Audi 4000 fitted stock with a 1.6 VW diesel engine and 5 speed transmission. Located in Denver Colorado. This car has been in storage since 1996 when it was last purchased in California. Included is the last newspaper ad when it was sold. Body shows original paint in excellent condition with no rust to be found anywhere on the car. It has a small dent in the passenger rear door and otherwise looks amazing. The interior is all original and in very presentable condition. Both front seats show some sag on the bolsters but otherwise it has been preserved very well in storage. This is a low mile car and you can tell it was taken care of.The car arrived to me not running and I have done my best to asses the issue. Injectors have been pulled the engine only shows about 200 PSI per cylinder, which is low for a diesel engine of this type. I bought it sight unseen and was hoping I could get it started and make it a daily driver. The parts for rebuilding these engines are not very expensive but I don't have the time to do the work. Perhaps the rings are just stuck from sitting in storage for 20 years, engine cranks over no problem and the fuel system, while it does need new hoses seems to be intact.Car has all 4 original Audi wheels, which are rather rare. 2 of the tires don't hold air so those are in the trunk and it has just rollers on the drivers side. Brake system works as well as the E brake, steers easy and I am happy to work with a shipper to get it to you.Lastly Audi 4000's are rare enough but you won't find any good comparisons for the diesel option. With a running engine I think this car could sell easily for $7K if you look at other classic car auction sites. Please do not bid if you do not have intentions of purchasing and following through. Car has a clean CA title.
