1970 AMC Gremlin – Rust-Free California Car – “Blow” Movie Car - Levi’s interior!

After seven years in our family, it is time to find a new home for this ridiculously cool 1970 AMC Gremlin. I am selling the car for my brother, who has loved and cared for it over the years but has since moved overseas and will not be taking it with him.

The Gremlin is powered by its stock 232-cubic-inch inline-six, a durable engine closely related to AMC’s venerable 258/4.2L six-cylinder. It starts easily, idles smoothly, runs cool, and has plenty of power for a stock Gremlin. The three-speed automatic transmission shifts nicely.

Recent mechanical work includes:

* New head gasket

* New valve-cover gasket

* Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets

* Rebuilt carburetor

* Champion aluminum radiator

* New thermostat and radiator hoses

* New rubber brake hoses

* Four new wheel cylinders

* New drum-brake hardware

* New master cylinder

The car was originally cream but was repainted in a later-style yellow and black graphics scheme that suits it perfectly. The paint still shines well, and the body is extremely straight aside from a small crease near the rear bumper, which is pictured. Most importantly, this is a rust-free California car from top to bottom. All of the glass is also in good condition. Will come with a plethora of new extra parts for future maintenance as well.

The interior has been retrofitted with the Levi’s-style denim interior offered in select Gremlins. It is very complete and presents nicely, with a mint condition dash assembly, good carpeting, and a solid headliner. An aftermarket vintage-style air-conditioning system was also installed.

This Gremlin has an especially fun piece of Hollywood history as it appeared in the Johnny Depp movie “Blow.” Between its movie connection, unmistakable styling, and bright yellow-and-black appearance, it gets an incredible amount of attention everywhere it goes.

* Fuel gauge is currently inoperative

* Factory temperature gauge is inoperative

* Brakes should be inspected and adjusted after the car’s time in storage but work ok

* Air-conditioning system needs service

*slight exhaust leak at downpipe gasket
