1970 AMC AMX Additional Info:

This is a great example of a very rare and desirable investment grade classic car. Its an all original 1970 AMX with the Go Package.
Don’t confuse this car with the more common ’68 ’69 models. The 1970 version had only 4116 AMXs built making it the rarest and most sought after of the 3 year run of these truly unique 2 seaters.
Completely and thoroughly restored back to original condition 390 4 speed with GO PAK option and 3:91 “Twin Grip” rear end.
The GO PAK option got you the 390 with fresh air hood, power steering, power disc brakes, performance rear end and performance suspension.
This car was very solid to start with and had very little rust to deal with bottom 4 inches of both rear quarters were patched just behind rear wheel where they all accumulate dirt. The car was mechanically stripped to bare metal, sprayed top to bottom with 2 coats of PPG epoxy primer to seal the metal then sprayed with a polyester blocking primer and blocked multiple times to get it laser straight. We then sprayed the car in its original Bayshore Blue metallic with multiple coats of PPG base coat and multiple coats of clear. The whole car was then wet sanded and buffed to mirror shine. Entire underbody of car was thoroughly cleaned and sprayed with undercoating to seal it.
The original 325 hp 390 was completely rebuilt with new .030 over 10.1 compression flat top forged pistons. Balanced and blueprinted. Billet hydraulic roller cam and Harlan Sharp roller rockers with custom push rods with all the roller-ized internals this engine revs like a Ferrari! Estimated hp is in the 450 range and feels like it! I have all the receipts for everything that went into the engine. Also has new ceramic coated headers and complete new exhaust and chrome tips.
The original Super T-10 trans was completely disassembled, blasted repainted, gone thru and resealed.
The original rear end and front suspension were removed from the car, blasted, and restored back to original condition and reinstalled with new shocks on all 4 corners.
Entire brake system is new as is the fuel tank and pickup.
The original wheels were blasted and restored back to original colors with new Cooper Cobra radials.
The interior has had new carpet only. Everything else is original and in great condition! Also the gauges were sent off and speedo, tach, fuel and temp gauges were all rebuilt and restored at a cost of over $700. All work properly now.
