1961 AMC M422 Mighty Mite Additional Info:

Vehicle Original VIN : 1304One of less than 4,000 total Mighty Mites M422 (65 in wheelbase) and M422A1 (72 in wheelbase) produced from 1959 through 1962, this exemplary example is up for your consideration. They only made 1,250 of the SWB versions. This was a design by the USMC during WWII, however would not see production until over ten years later. They were designed to be lighter and more versatile than the Willys Jeep and were designed to be thrown out of helicopters fully intact. They are rated at highway speeds of 62 MPH max, they are air cooled, are a fully independent suspension and are tough as nails little off roaders. They are also meant to be fully subermisble with fording kit, snorkel and 6ft exhaust exit. This particular stunner has been fully restored and sorted and is a pleasure to operate. It starts perfectly, idles like a sewing machine, all lights an gauges work, 4x4 operates as it should and runs down the road probably better than it did new and comes out of a expansive military museum. This comes with a free and clear title, has been registered for road use and fully insured for years out of the state of Indiana. This is a really neat little Military/off-roader that you don't see everyday and would make a great parade vehicle, cottage vehicle or bop around town. This Mighty mite does not seem to leak or smoke and is all around ready to be enjoyed. There has only been a few of these that have come to market. This may or not be the nicest one, but the nicest one sold for nearly $50K and I have seen not as nice or sorted ones sell for mid $20K range.
