1976 Matador Coupe

1976 AMC Matador Additional Info:

Hello, up for bids is my 1976 AMC Matador Coup. This is a very rare car, 76 was the only year that AMC made the Barcellonia I. They only came in Black and you had a choice of black or tan interiors. This was the precurser to the Bacellonia II for 1977 and 1978 which came in two tone Tan or Red interior color matched paint. Second photo is what car could look like when restored. This car had the front, back seats reapoulsterd along with fabric and inserts. Door panels are redone, along with head liner. New exhaust from catalitic convertor going back to rear, Four new tires, two had to be put on car the other two would not hold air. Great running car, starts on second try, engine is the 360 with a two barrell carb, it does not smoke nor leak oil. Tranny shifts as it should with no leaks.There are no cracks in glass, windshield was replaced when I first got the car, and even has heated rear windowe. Body is in great condition for it's age there is rust on the lower left front fender just behind tire and on the right rear fender just behind the tire. Hood has pitting in paint and a small dent just aft of the left side head light opening. Vinyle top was pilling and cracking, It was removed it and there no rust undernith which vinyle tops where prone to hold water undernith when left to the elements. Metal trim is all there, was removed when starting project tag and put in trunk, Bumpers are not show quality, rubber bumper gaurds where also removed and in the trunk. Started project befor COVID and lost intrest in finishing it afterwards. I was lucky I got interior back before shop closed. Car should be restored just not by me.Car does run will need to be trailered, $500 due at closing bid, remaining within seven days.
