1974 AMC Gremlin X Additional Info:
1974 AMC Gremlin X in excellent condition mechanically and aesthetically. I purchased this Gremlin about 10 years ago from the original owner a Japanese war veteran. I pampered this car since day one and I slightly customized to my liking leaving the untouched original paint. After I purchased the car it was put inside my garage, rarely driven to cars shows around Orange County and eventually parked inside the living room of my art studio. This Gremlin is a fantastic vehicle.
It has 56k original miles runs beautifully.
AC blows ice cold using the old fashion R12 freon, works like a champ!
this is what I have done under my ownership:
Electronic ignition coil
heavy duty front and rear sway bar
Heavy duty rear shocks
Front disc brake Conversion with power booster (taken from a later model AMC Pacer) works flawlessly!
Hood tac original AMC from 1970 AMC Rebel 'The Machine" (Last picture)
Perfectly positioned hoodscoop chrome fins openings
Aluminum pistol grip Hurst shifter
Right side passenger chrome racing bullet mirror
Not functional hood hump just to give it a more aggressive look.
15x7 front and 15x10 rear Magnum 500 wheels
Total conversation vehicle! Everywhere I drove this car I have been stopped, cheerily honked on, high fived, thumbs upped.
Runs great and with AC on you can actually drive it on a hot summer day no problem.
The front and rear sway bar keep the car in place and make a huge difference the best upgrade I have given along with the front disc brakes. I am confident you could actually drive this car long distances and I rarely say this about any of the cars I have collected. No rust although there is a very small area probably 2 inches in diameter where there are small bubbles on the lower passenger side door that have been there since the day I purchased it. The side hockey stripes have faded with time though I have purchased a brand new set gold in color to match the rear valance but I have been reluctant to install them.
I have a huge file of records the original owner gave me.
The space saver spare and red cylinder compressed air is included along with the original owners manual.
I have taken off the front and rear 5mph impact bumpers since I personally they were too ugly to look at.
I do not have them and should be easily available at a junk yard in case you want to install them back up.
I put additional front and rear turn signal lights in order to cover the holes
I think the car looks terrific that way but that's my opinion.
I will update this auction with more info I am sure I am forgetting a few more details.
Buyer is responsible for picking up the car coordinate logistics whether is out of state or overseas
Clean California title under my name my Gremlin is located in the city of Gardena near LAX or SpaceX
again the car is parked inside the living room of my art studio.
It is with a heavy hart that I am auctioning my Gremlin (should the car find a new owner)Out of all the super exotic vintage American or Italian cars I have had this has always had a special place.
