1971 AMC Hornet SC360 Additional Info:
This AMC hornet is an SC360. You most likely know what that is already if you are reading this. But if you dont, there were only about 700 of these cars made with the SC360 pkg. This car has the go pack as well, which included the ram air hood scoop, tach, 4 barrel, and dual exhaust. The 360cu motor runs strong and sounds great. The 4 speed transmission feels good and goes through all the gears nicely. The cars runs and drives very well even though it has power drum brakes and no power steering. Brand new brake booster and master cylinder were just installed. The car is mostly all original from what I can tell. The car was repainted a long time ago by a previous owner and only shows a few imperfections, See photos for those spots. The bumpers are in excellent shape and chrome looks perfect, The rubber front bumper pieces are not broken and look good. The underside of the car is very nice as well. The frame, body and floors are all very very solid with no signs of rust damage. The engine bay and engine are the only areas that really look like they need attention. I think you would agree the engine could use paint and a good detail. That leads me to believe the engine in this car is original and hasn't been messed with or touched too much. The interior of the car is very nice. The seats are near perfect with no tears, or stains or issues what so ever, They seats slide and recline as they should. The back seat is also in great condition. Both door panels are in nice shape as well. Both windows go up and dow smoothly. The doors open and close nicely as well. The carpet is in nice shape and has great fitment and seems to be original. The Hurst shifter is in great shape and feels good. The headliner in the car is white and is showing its age, It doesn't have any major issues or sagging or torn but being white, it is looking old. The dash and gauge cluster in the car is in excellent shape. The lower shelf below the dash is also intact and solid. All the other ones I have seen, have been broken or repaired. the trunk looks good and is solid, There doesn't seem to be any rust anywhere in or around the trunk. The trunk still has the factory spare spare tire and the tank to fill it( I don't know if that still works of course). The door tag is still intact showing all the info. The vin number has been moved to the door jam by the WI DMV. It still has the factory AMC numbers, just changed from the dash to the door jam. I have the original window sticker for the car as well. This is a really good running and driving solid car. There weren't many of them out there, and I haven't seen one in this condition for some time. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I encourage and welcome anyone to come see the car before bidding so you know what you are buying. Thank you. Please Call Robert 727-514-8678
