1961 AMC Rambler 400 Additional Info:

1961 American Rambler project with clean Nevada title in my name ready to go. This classic Rambler sat in a desert yard since the 80's and after some new plugs, hoses and some new oils to my surprised fired right up. These are clearly some of the best motors of the time. Again please remember car sat since the 80's so is a project and will need new gaskets such as oil pan, trans pan, and so on. I did change the valve cover gasket. I also changed the fuel filler hose and all fuel line from front to back. The fuel tank looked very good inside but does have a very small leak near a rubber plug. The original fuel pump I still have was no good so I replaced with a universal electric pump. The car starts and runs but takes a bit to shift from first to second gear. Maybe something simple or more complex I don"t know. Car stops fine but have to pump brakes a couple of times. This is how I drove the car home. When I first acquired the car I removed all interior which the years of hot sun had taken a tole on. I have all interior trim pieces as well as chrome tags that go on outside of car. You will notice that the seats have been recovered. Please note that this was done by amateurs only so will see some flaws in the work however 100% better than what we started with. I was just looking for a nice daily driver not a showroom car. The sun visors were also done. Only selling because we decided to move and may not be able to keep where were going. Minor dent on right front fender. Circle of surface rust on hood. Interior floor has surface rust on driver floor. Nothing that will require patch work. The only real flaw is: looked like at some point while this car sat in the yard someone was thinking about taking the floor possibly for another project however stopped only after leaving approximately a 12 inch saw cut just in front of rear seat.(see last pic) This will have to welded at some point. Again I can't stress enough this is a project car but after some brake work and have trans looked at should be able to get on the road while you continue to work on it. The front seat belts have been redone as well. There were none in the rear. I do have the original soak bath air cleaner as well. I think that's about all. Please if any questions please ask. Will drive up on trailer just fine. $300 deposit at end of auction. Thanks and Happy Bidding!!
